Earth School … and Back Home Again -- Excerpts from Chapter 6
- Starting with being held upside down and having your little butt smacked as your first Earth School impressions, you have just started the toughest, most challenging experience available to souls that exists anywhere in this galaxy. Scary thought, but you did choose it, confident that you could handle it. In fact, you-the-soul spent years planning and preparing for it. Why? Because it's the single most powerful way to accelerate your growth. You-the-soul will learn more in the next few years on Earth than you could in a million years (literally) on the soul plane.
- Imagine a friend recounting at great length how thrilling a roller coaster ride was for him. But his account is limp and pallid and, never having been on such a ride yourself, you just don't get it. Then, one day, you take the ride yourself and are blown away by the sensory overload of the experience. That's the difference in the intensity between the Earth and Soul planes. Now this intensity only applies to negativity, because what we call "love" here on Earth is limp and pallid compared with the intensity of love on the Soul plane.
- On the Earth plane, we can forget who we really are and play "let's pretend we're limited mortals" for a few decades, with you-the-soul (the creator of you-the-ego) watching and wondering, "Will he get it?" Or, "When will she realize who she really is?"
- The Earth School is the only plane where your soul can experience surprise, pain and death, and only then through your ego-personality. Every day sees hundreds of ways that your life can take unexpected (by ego) turns, and how you-the-ego respond is a source of great fascination and delight to you-the-soul.
- On the Soul plane, everything is created by thought. If you want to live in a huge castle, just conceive of the architecture in your mind and bingo … there it is. You want the turrets taller? Then think them taller and watch them grow. The great secret is that the Earth plane is like that too, but with a dampening field applied so that a stray thought doesn't wreak havoc or create monstrosities that we can't handle
- Specialized souls on the Soul plane are busy thinking the thoughts that sustain the Earth plane for us, but your thoughts influence what those souls create for you. To be effective, you must hold a thought with clarity and consistency, and exclusively for about 20 seconds. Most of us do that anyway, of course, only they are not positive, life-enhancing thoughts, but negative, fearful thoughts. That's The Big Secret, and if you don't know this, you can create a life that you really don't like. Your thoughts create your reality whether you know it or not.
- This brings us to the second part of The Big Secret: your life is a reflection of your beliefs. If your life sucks, don't complain about life; examine your beliefs because that's where the root of the problem lies. This is classic "chicken and egg." Does your life suck because your beliefs suck, or do your beliefs suck because your life sucks? Contrary to popular belief, it's the former. Thoughts come first and reality follows. Of course, it looks the other way round in Earth School … which is why it's still The Big Secret.
- So, to change your reality, first change your thoughts about reality, and your reality will then change, albeit slowly. What you believe and how you think are habits that took years to form. The good news is that you formed them unconsciously; now that you're conscious, change will come more quickly.
- Why is this big secret still The Big Secret? Why isn't Reality Creation 101 taught in first grade? Who's keeping the secret from us … and why? For the oldest reasons in the world-power and greed. Since the beginning, powerful groups of people have been brainwashing us into believing that the real power lies outside ourselves in some God somewhere who wants us to behave in a certain way and punishes us if we don't. Of course, with their help (and for a fee), the Church will petition this God-out-there to maybe ease your suffering a little. Or if you must suffer, they will petition that you grow strong enough to bear the pain.
The Near-Death Experience (NDE): Window on Eternity
Thanks to improvements in medicine, more and more of those who die are being resuscitated and are returning to Earth School with fascinating stories of what happened while they were clinically dead. Each experience is different, but they all seem to contain the same core components:
- Leaving the body, often looking down on it as medical staff rush to resuscitate you, as in the cases of the Red Shoe and the White Sneaker
- High-speed travel towards a light, usually through a tunnel
- Intense light with no apparent source, which answers all your questions, even though you may not remember the answers
- Overwhelming feeling of love, acceptance, forgiveness and homecoming in the Light
- Life review that examines significant life events and reveals what is truly important about life on the physical plane.
- Colors, sounds and scents that dwarf everything on the physical plane.
- Overwhelming desire to stay but being told or just knowing that it's not your time
- Suddenly being slammed back into your physical body.
The important lesson of NDEs is not that they happen, but what they mean. How do they change the NDEr and the rest of us in the areas of self-view, how we perceive and hence treat other people, our larger worldview, and our relationship with soul?
